The whole family participated, sitting against the wall of the front room of the house attached to the noodle stand run by Yupa's parents. As usual, worship was rich and sweet, with all the little voices and Suradet's strong guitar.
I talked briefly about Isaiah 40:28-31.
Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creators of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary,
his understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might
he increases strength.
Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted.
But they who wait on the LORD
shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.
We declared together in that room that God is able and He is wise, and we would trust Him no matter what.
Then, with hands laid on this tiny, godly woman, we prayed. All together Thai style, we prayed. With urgency and faith and submission, we prayed.
And we sang.
Give thanks with a grateful heart...
And now, let the weak say, "I am strong."
It's in these moments that I feel the movings of the Spirit most. For a people who have limited access to the kind of medical attention we take for granted, this kind of coming alongside to pray means everything. It's all they have.
Thanks to all who have joined in the prayers for this little lady. I told her that people in Canada were also praying for her and thinking of her.
